Cairn Capital, the fast-growing specialist asset manager and solution provider, today announces its Credit Research Team. Headed up by Stephan Michel, former Co-Head of European Credit Research at Barclays Capital, and with Credit Analyst, Deniz Akgul, formerly of Houlihan Lokey, the team further complement the operating activities of Cairn.

Stephan had been at Barclays Capital since February 2001 and advised clients in a variety of sectors including: autos, tobacco, industrials, telecoms and media.
Prior to Barclays Capital, he was a partner and senior portfolio manager at Green T, focusing on HY credits, and before that he spent two years at Cabot Square, initially as an analyst and subsequently as a portfolio manager, running their credit fund where he was involved in some of the first Euro HY credit deals. Prior to working in the financial restructuring group at Houlihan Lokey, Deniz Akgul worked in the M&A, Telecom and Media and Industrial Services Groups at Credit Suisse First Boston. His experience includes distressed debt, financial restructurings and mergers & acquisitions.
