Responsibility

Giving something back

Cairn Capital wants to build a company of which we can be proud. Part of this involves investing in our responsibilities in a way that makes a real difference. Our Corporate Social Responsibility Programme has supported, amongst others, the following organisations and cultural events:

Stop the Traffik

Stop The Traffik has a fast growing knowledge of the hotspots and routes of human trafficking and from this, are able to systematically disrupt human trafficking and modern slavery networks at their source. Cairn Capital’s donations help support Stop The Traffik’s efforts to raise public awareness through intelligence-led, bespoke campaigns, resources and training. This enables them to build a strong network of individuals and organisations around the world, creating a richer picture of global human trafficking. In addition to this, they work directly with young people and vulnerable communities.

Coram Foundation

The Coram Foundation offers direct, practical help to vulnerable children, young people, and their families. This includes finding adoptive families for children in need of loving, permanent homes and helping traumatised children express their pain through art and music. Coram works with children and young people vulnerable to harm or exclusion from society, and who have a particular reliance on the state or its agencies for their rights or wellbeing (for example children who have spent too long in the care system with multiple carers).

Willow

The Willow Foundation works with young adults from aged 16-40 living with life-threatening conditions such as cancer, cystic fibrosis, motor neurone disease and Huntington’s disease. Cairn Capital’s donations help Willow provide young adults with unforgettable “Special Days” which, for some, offers the opportunity to return a sense of normality to their lives, and for others offers a last chance to fulfil a life-long dream. A “Special Day” can lift spirits, reunify families and be a source of strength when it’s needed most.

One Degree

One Degree is an academic mentoring charity that aims to improve the GCSE performance and self-confidence of students from disadvantaged backgrounds in London since 2009. They focus their approach on intensive academic mentoring in English and Maths, as well as contributing to students’ personal development by offering them life skills training.
